Peccary is by far the best gloving material available today, but just like cashmere, there are many grades and qualities of this special boar leather available. I've owned many pairs of cheaper peccary gloves through the years, virtually all of which have worn out in 3-5 years from just ordinary use. Dent's peccary leather is clearly in another class, as you can tell the minute you set eyes on these gloves: it's denser, thicker, smoother than any other leather I've seen. Dents and others claim they'll last a lifetime with proper care and I have no doubt that will prove the case (just wish I'd bought these when I was younger instead of wasting so much money on all the pairs of lesser-quality peccary gloves I've gone through!).On top of the leather quality, the craftsmanship in these gloves is superb. They are completely hand-cut and hand-sewn with amazingly uniform and sturdy stitches. I know this because I carefully shortened the thumbs slightly (guess I have shorter than average thumbs!), each of which took me close to an hour, and even after taking that much time and care, my stitching, while good, isn't as uniform as the original.Yes, they are expensive, but if you're looking for truly premium gloves that will likely last many years, and which you'll delight in each time you put them on and go outside, these are the gloves for you.Now I understand why Dents pricing is so much higher than their competitors. These gloves are of the most excellent hand sewn quality that is unmatched by any well known competitors offering hand sewn peccary gloves. While it is true that peccary gloves can be found for less than half the Dents price on eBay, I am speaking from personal experience in stating that you will be sorely disappointed. Pay the price for Dents because you cannot go wrong!
