I have Raynaud's syndrome and have been having a tough time keeping my fingers warm on the motorcycle when the temperature drops below 45 degrees and my speeds are above 45 mph. I installed heated grips which helped, but I needed more insulation on the back of the hands. I decided to give snowmobile gloves a try and selected the 509's because of their 1:4 ratio of insulation on the palms versus the backs. Tested them today at a speed of 70 mph and temperatures below 32 degrees. My fingertips still got a little chilled, but not like the pain before the gloves. Also, they are incredibly supple and conformed nicely to the motorcycle grips. A complete success for me.…wish gloves fit over sleeves of jacketThese types of gloves run small for my hands, so I ordered two sizes up based on past experience with other brands. My hands measure 9 1/2” around.I used them for snowblowing and roof raking in 20 degree cold, wet weather. The outer leather became wet, but my hands remained warm and dry inside. The gauntlets helped keep snow out. When I use them for Snowmobiling in colder weather, I plan to wear liners (which is also why I buy a larger size) and also waterproof them to help repel moisture. In my experience, you have to spend $100 to get gloves with this level of insulation, features, and, hopefully durability. They fit very nicely and are very warm. Quality made! I’m still waiting on the snow so that I can test them out.Bought for my wife but the smalls seem to run pretty big. I wear a large and they about fit my hands. I’d guess if you normally wore a medium they would probably fit well and still you might want to wear a glove liner. Depends on you preference of glove fit I guess.Gloves are great and worth the money. Please note: these gloves run small. If you normally wear a large, buy an extra large or even a XXL, if you want them to fit a little loose. I normally wear a large. I bought the extra large due to the larges being out of stock. Glad I did, as they fit great and maybe even a bit snug. Hopefully with a little wear they will loosen up a bit. Great gloves, built well and should last a long time.I have switched from over priced Klim products to exclusively 509 and I am very happy with the quality of their products. Both brands produce high quality products but 509 does it for a much more reasonable price. These gloves fit great and I can tell they are made very well I haven’t gotten to use them yet due to needing summer time but am very excited to use them on my snowmobile
