PEARL IZUMI Women's Ride Pro Amfib Super Gloves - Waterproof Cycling Gloves for Cold Weather Riding, Biking & Outdoor Sports

These are the warmest riding gloves I have ever owned. Riding in the mid-twenties and these gloves alone keep the hands very toasty. As you approach freezing best to put these away as even a short 15 miler will make your hands sweat. Put in a pair of liners and you can get down to 0 with no discomfort. The gloves are a little large but that appears to be so you can wear liners. The outer fabric of these gloves blocks the wind very well the extra large weather cuff makes it easy to get over your jacket sleeves. The gloves have a cinch strap at the wrist to block any air from the cuff. I own a number of Pearl Izumi winter gloves as well as other brands and these by far outshine them all.I have used the gloves on six wet rides in the Pacific Northwest, each lasting about 3 hours. In every case I came back with dry, warm hands. I bought these because I had come back from a ride with my Pearl Izumi windstopper gloves with my fingers totally numb from being immersed in freezing rain for more than 40 minutes. I was skeptical about any gloves being warm and waterproof, but knew that Amazon would return my money if they didn't work as advertised. Thankfully, that wasn't necessary. These gloves work extremely well. I would suggest for those whose winter rides are in temperatures colder than the low 30s buy the gloves in a large size than normal so that you can fit liner gloves inside. Down to the low 30s they are quite adequate. They keep the wet out which is essential to staying warm.excellent gloves but absolutely not for legitimate winter weather cycilng (by themselves). My hands were cold below 30F while cycling in wind. With hand warmers the gloves are tolerable but would not be good much below sub-20F with wind (unless you don't mind your fingertips being cold). A regular person will need at least a liner pair beneath these with handwarmers for winter cycling. The size was too big for my hands- I'm a fairly regular size, regular hands- 5'11, 180.if you are looking for lobsters and warm warm gloves these are it. I've owned a few 'deep' winter gloves such as assos , and these are the warmest. Now these are essentially snowboarding gloves , but for me the split finger is the way to go. I usually can't do lobsters because i shift with my middle finger only on my road bike, so having split index and middle with these is great! They are a funky cool that doesn't match anything and they really don't need to be as 'big' but they are warm. And that's why i bought themAlthough I don't love the goofy neon accent colors I'm pretty excited to get some colder weather to wear these bad boys. I've had the Amfibs for the past 6 years and they finally wore out. I always liked the warmth and the palms held out for many, many miles. These don't feel as thick in the fingers so I hope they're good below zero. So, 5 stars for fit and comfort, I'll review these again mid winter when I've been using them daily!Gloves are a good size, which is hard to find with big hands. They're big enough you can wear them by themselves when it is between 20 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit, and with liners when it's colder than that. The gloves come up over the end of my sleeves without catching the sleeves, making it nice to take them on and off without exposing my wrists.Not nearly as warm as I'd expected or hoped for. In sub 40 degree weather, fingers still get very cold. At around 30-35 degrees, even riding with merino liners under the gloves did not keep my finger tips from freezing and hurting. They do seem to be very well made but I'm disappointed in their cold weather performance.I'm in the northeast and ride all year round. I had the version of these gloves from 20 years ago and always hated the 2x2 claw design. These gloves allow freedom of the index and middle finger which is much appreciated while riding. But it's gotta be really cold until I put these on. Anything over 20F and these gloves are too warm. Excellent as the extreme weather choice.
